Doula Care

As your doula, I will be your guide and support person to assist you in having a better and more empowering birth and postpartum experience.  Being in the new environment of labor whether you are at home, in a birthing center or in a hospital demands flexibility and patience, as well as the tools to communicate effectively with your entire birth team. We will discuss your birth plan and I will help to support you throughout the entire process of labor and delivery. 

A doula is there for the the birthing family to help guide them through the experience of birth and the first days home with their babies. Research shows that mothers who were attended to by a doula had substantially lower rates of medical intervention at birth and parents have an over-all higher satisfaction of the birth experience.
A postpartum doula can help the parents feel more confident and at ease with their new baby. Mothers who have support from a doula after the birth have higher breastfeeding rates and suffer less from postpartum mood disorders.
